Working Together
A Place to become curious
Beginning therapy can feel like a big step.
You don’t need to arrive with everything worked out, or know exactly where to begin.
Often people come because something no longer feels quite right. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or simply aware that the way they’ve been living no longer feels sustainable.
Wherever you find yourself, we’ll begin there.
Therapy isn't about someone analysing you or telling you how to live your life.
It is a relationship. A conversation.
A place where we can slow down enough to notice what has been overlooked, become curious about the patterns, beliefs and relationships that have shaped you, and begin to make sense of your experiences, together.
Sometimes our work will involve exploring your past and the relationships that have influenced you. At other times, our attention will rest firmly in the present.
Often, we’ll move between the two, discovering how past experiences continue to shape your life today and how greater awareness can open the possibility for different choices.
There may be times when I gently, or more directly, invite you to consider a different perspective or question a familiar way of seeing yourself.
I won’t shy away from challenge when it feels helpful, but it will always come from a place of curiosity, compassion and respect.
Therapy isn’t about agreeing with everything you think or do; it’s about creating enough safety to explore yourself honestly.
Like the natural world, our lives move through seasons. There are times of growth, times of uncertainty, times of loss and times of renewal. We cannot rush spring, ask winter to disappear, or expect a tree to bear fruit all year round. In much the same way, therapy doesn’t rush the seasons of your life. Instead, it offers space to understand where you are, what this season is asking of you, and how you might remain in relationship with yourself as you continue to grow and change.
Paying Attention
Sometimes the things we find hardest to express emerge through metaphor, imagery, stories, music, or the things that already hold meaning in our lives.
If something matters to you—a poem, a piece of music, a photograph, a place, an object, something you’ve created, a project you’re immersed in, the way you’ve made a home, the way you care for your children, or something you simply can’t stop thinking about—there is room to bring it into the therapy space.
When I talk about creativity, I don’t simply mean art or being “artistic”. I see creativity as the uniquely human capacity to make, imagine, shape, connect and express. It helps us make sense of ourselves and the world around us.
Part of my way of working is paying attention to what might otherwise go unnoticed. I’m often interested in the things that might seem insignificant at first glance.
I don’t believe that the things people bring into therapy are ever “just” details. The metaphors we naturally use, the music we return to, the places that soothe us, the colours we surround ourselves with, the meals we cook when we’re longing for home, the way we speak about the sea, a garden we’ve lovingly tended for years, a favourite book that has stayed with us… these are rarely incidental.
They often tell us something about our values, our identity, our relationships, our memories and the meanings we’ve made throughout our lives.
Rather than rushing to interpret them, I’m interested in wondering about them with you.
I believe that paying attention in this way can open up new ways of understanding ourselves. Not because every detail has a hidden meaning to uncover, but because curiosity often allows us to notice connections that were there all along.
Above all, I hope our work together becomes a place where you feel able to bring your whole self. The parts that feel confident and the parts that feel uncertain. The parts you are proud of and the parts you may have learned to hide.
Because I believe that when we are met with curiosity rather than judgement, something begins to shift. We become more able to remain in relationship with ourselves, even as we continue to grow and change.
Is Therapy Right for Me?
Perhaps you're here because...
…you’ve lost your sense of who you are.
…life looks fine from the outside, but something feels disconnected.
…you’re carrying shame that has become your inner voice.
…you’re exhausted by trying to hold everything together.
…you’re grieving someone, something, or a life you thought you would have.
…you find yourself asking bigger questions about meaning, purpose or identity.
…you’ve spent years looking after everyone else and aren’t quite sure what you need anymore.
…you’re longing to live differently but don’t yet know what that looks like.
…you don’t necessarily have the words for what’s wrong.
…you’ve noticed patterns or cycles that keep repeating and you’re ready to understand them more deeply.
You simply have a sense that something in your life is asking to be understood.
We might talk about anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, neurodiversity, attachment, addiction, low self-esteem, PTSD, or another diagnosis. But before any label, there is you.
Your relationships.
Your experiences.
Your story.
I’m interested in understanding how you are experiencing your life right now.
What has brought you here?
What feels difficult?
What feels important?
What are you longing for?
And what kind of support do you need at this point in your life?
You don’t need to arrive with certainty.
You don’t need to know whether your difficulties are “serious enough.”
If something in your life is asking to be understood, that is reason enough to begin.
The Deep Dive
"If your life could speak today, what would it be asking you to pay attention to?"
Sometimes we don’t need years of therapy to know that something in our life needs our attention.
We simply need the time and space to step back, breathe, and look at the bigger picture.
A Deep Dive is an extended therapy session designed to help you gain clarity when life feels uncertain, overwhelming or out of balance.
Perhaps you're at a crossroads.
Perhaps something has changed, and you’re not sure what comes next. Perhaps you feel stuck in familiar patterns, disconnected from yourself, or aware that the life you’ve been living no longer feels quite like your own.
Together, we’ll slow down enough to notice what has been asking for your attention.
We’ll explore your relationships, values, patterns, longings and the questions that keep returning. Rather than rushing towards solutions, we’ll become curious about what your life may be asking of you right now. My hope is that you leave with greater clarity, a deeper understanding of yourself, and a renewed sense of direction—not because every question has been answered, but because you’ve had the opportunity to pause and see your life from a wider perspective.
What might we explore?
…you’re standing at a crossroads and don’t know which direction to take.
…you are aware that life has become unfamiliar
…you’ve noticed patterns that keep repeating and want to understand them more deeply.
…you’re making an important decision and want space to think rather than react.
…you’re longing to reconnect with what matters most to you.
…you’ve experienced a significant life change.
…you feel out of balance but can’t quite explain why.
…you feel distant from the person you hoped to become
